Install the free edition

Before Chrome Web Store publication, the website's Download button provides an extension ZIP. Unzip it into a folder, open chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode, choose Load unpacked, and select the folder containing manifest.json. Keep that folder on your device. Pin PageTuck using Chrome's Extensions menu.

Connect your model

1. Open PageTuck Settings and choose your AI provider.
2. Enter the provider's API key and a model ID available to your account. A ChatGPT website login token or subscription is not an API key.
3. Choose Save connection and allow access to the specific provider address. Save & test sends one short request and may incur provider API fees.
4. Open an ordinary webpage, click PageTuck in the toolbar, and select Add page. Review the attached text, write a question, and send it.

Custom OpenAI-compatible services use a base URL ending at the API root; PageTuck appends /chat/completions. HTTPS is required except for localhost and 127.0.0.1. Local services without authentication can leave the API key blank.

Common problems

• Key missing after restarting Chrome: keys are session-only by default. Add your key again, or explicitly choose Remember key. Remembered keys are stored locally without encryption.
• Permission denied: save the connection again and allow the provider origin requested by Chrome.
• 401 / unauthorized: check the API key and provider account. Never paste a website session token.
• Model unavailable / insufficient credit: check the model ID, API billing, and limits in your provider account.
• Can't attach a page: invoke PageTuck from Chrome's toolbar on an ordinary webpage. Internal Chrome pages, the Web Store, PDFs, video transcripts, and iframe-only text are unsupported. Select or paste the relevant text instead.
• Free source limit: remove the current attachment before adding another. Free supports one source per conversation.

Privacy and pricing

Sending a question transmits it and attached text directly to your chosen model provider. No PageTuck proxy or analytics is used. Saved notes and history stay in local Chrome storage. Export useful work before clearing it.
